Connect with others on non-traditional paths
The Many Paths community is a supportive, egalitarian community designed for both online and in person connection. We welcome all people and all beliefs—spiritual, secular, and everything in between. We operate on a foundation of shared values:
-
Inclusivity: Everyone is welcome, regardless of belief system or any other identity.
-
Nonjudgment: We’re not here to share opinions, assume the worst intentions in each other, or even offer advice. We listen, ask helpful questions, and reflect back—that’s all.
-
Mutual respect: No one person’s beliefs make more sense than another's. We all have different ways of seeing the world, and isn’t that amazing?
-
Confidentiality: What you share is private, and stays within the community.
We believe that we’re each on a human journey that’s universal at its core. We tend to define that journey as finding purpose, making meaning, and moving past the ego; athough there are as many ways to describe this journey as there are humans. Our aim is to be a refuge where members can grow together along their personal paths, without dogma or pressure to conform to a specific set of beliefs or teachings.

Who is the Many Paths Community for?
This community is ideal for individuals seeking a community without dogma, or a single tradition. It’s perfect for those who identify as "spiritual but not religious" or are looking for a dedicated secular community for personal growth. Our values of inclusivity, nonjudgment, and mutual respect keep our meetings comfortable for both spiritual and secular types. If you’re secular and look down on spiritual types, or if you’re spiritual and look down on secular types, this isn’t a great spot for you.
Members may be seeking:

-
A safe space to explore beliefs and personal meaning without judgment.

FAQs
How does this whole thing work?
The Many Paths community is in a beta stage for now, but the current community vision is made up of four core components:
-
An online community built on a secure, third-party platform, which will resemble social media. It will be assertively moderated to ensure respect and seeded with content, prompts, and announcements to help keep conversation and connection going in between meetings.
-
Members-only interspiritual learning materials, recommendations, workshops, and classes that are either free or discounted for members may eventually be offered by community organizers as well as fellow members.
-
A brief, regular global online meeting where we share silence, announcements, and best practices offered by fellow members before breaking into pods for the remainder of the call.
-
Pods will be made up of four to seven people who meet weekly in person, online, or in hybrid, and follow a set structure of deep listening and reflecting.
Isn’t this basically online Quakerism?
Quakerism is probably the community that is most similar to this concept, and we’ve taken some inspiration from it; however, the two are very different in practice. Quakerism is a 400-year-old tradition rooted in a Christ-centered history that focuses on listening for God in silence, while Many Paths is a modern, traditionless network designed for people who want personal growth without a "churchy" feeling or one faith domination.
Structurally, they are opposites: Quakerism relies on unstructured silence and occasional structured “clearness committees” on request. Many Paths uses a highly organized system of pods that rely on a set structure for meetings. Finally, while Quakers have "Testimonies" on how to live in the world, Many Paths' shared values are strictly limited to how members treat each other within the group to ensure everyone—from atheists to theists—feels safe and respected.
